“Our health depends on the health of our cells”.
We have all heard of pH levels and pH testing, but do we really understand how important it is for our overall health? A balanced pH can have many benefits, a few being promotion of energy, stamina, a healthy body weight, bone health, digestive health and immunity, recovery from illness, injury and exertion, efficient heart function, as well as possibly reducing the risk of diabetes, cancer and gout.
A key factor in ensuring we achieve an ideal reading of 6.7 – 7.0 is not only maintaining a healthy diet but in fact, a healthy lifestyle. Drinking at least 2 litres of purified water daily, avoiding sugar, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, additives and colourings, adding in healthy fats, eating a lot of fresh, raw and cooked vegetables, and getting an adequate amount of sleep are a few steps in the right direction to a healthy body pH.

For someone like myself, who leads a mostly healthy lifestyle but still is affected by common symptoms of an imbalanced body pH, one of the most useful pieces of information I took away from reading the ‘EASYpH Information Booklet’ was it’s not always about what I’m eating but more about how I’m eating. Different foods require different environments and enzymes for proper digestion. If you’re anything like me, you may be eating all the correct foods but it is possible that you are combining the foods incorrectly and the ‘EASYpH Information Booklet’ teaches us how to combine foods correctly for our optimum health.
The ‘EASYpH Information Booklet’ also explains the importance of being aware of the chemicals and acid-forming substances that enter our body in other ways, as this too, can have an impact on our acid-alkaline balance. Our skin absorbs everything it comes into contact with, so being mindful of the ingredients in your everyday products such as shampoos, lotions, soaps, and even your toothpaste can affect your body’s pH.
After understanding more about acid-alkaline balance and factors that can cause imbalance, I will certainly be making the appropriate changes to my, otherwise healthy lifestyle to achieve the ideal pH state to ensure my body is at optimum health.
